Beginning
There are neither beginnings or endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.
Hello! The content on this website is crafted for people who possess a deep passion for reading and writing, myself included. If your attention span has dropped to 7 seconds, you might find yourself struggling here. However, if you have the patience to stick around, this blog promises you windows opening into another person's mind.
I’m Mustafa. I’ve already written a few things about myself and this website on the About page. My native language is Turkish; I write in my mother tongue and then translate, so I apologize if my words don’t sound cool enough in English (they are definitely cool in Turkish!).
I have been writing for as long as I can remember. You may have stumbled upon my writing in books that no one read, in magazines where having your poetry published was -once upon a time- considered cool, or perhaps in the forums and blogs of the internet that are now forgotten.
Writing a Blog in 2026
I know, I know. Nobody reads blogs anymore. I mean, that’s what everyone says. But I have to confess that this isn't true for me, at least, as I feel like I’m reading more blogs with each passing year. But then again, I am a romantic who thinks it is ridiculous that forums have died out, so I don't count as a good example for trend analysis. Also, I must admit, this blog is for me more than anyone else. -Still, I can't help but think that there are others like me out there reading this post-
Well, I guess I can say this website was more of a necessity than a choice for me. Also, if you haven't noticed yet, this place isn't designed to be just an ordinary blog. This is an advanced personal platform designed to serve as the central hub of my digital footprint. So, what does that mean?
A useful code snippet I wrote recently, TV series I watch, playlists I create, lists of games I plan to play, photos I take, poems I write, notes I take… I designed this place as a paradise for a digital hoarder like myself. Therefore, I don't see this site merely as a blog.
You can see traces of some of the things I mentioned here and there; for instance, all the songs I listen to on Spotify are already being saved to my music archive here. Many things, however, are still in the idea stage, waiting for my free time.
Technical Infrastructure
Let me start by thanking Semih Kenan Turgut for his support when starting this project. He helped me a lot in learning the frontend part, but unfortunately, he had to leave at the very beginning of the project to focus on his own work.
Around the time I needed a project to learn and showcase what I had learned, I received an email stating that it was time to renew the annual fee for the website where I published my articles about TTRPGs (it was a simple site I designed with WordPress). I logged into the site and deleted my card details. This was what laid the foundation for this site. I had found the project I was looking for.
While developing this site, I focused on the process rather than the product or the result. I sometimes compromised on consistency just to try different things. I did a lot of over-engineering for the sake of learning. I am quite pleased with both what I learned during this process and the work I created. If anyone wants to examine this structure or poke around, you can check out the GitHub repo.
What's Next
I already have many articles on hand, but most of them haven't been translated into English yet. I will be translating and publishing them gradually. I will mostly prioritize my new writings over the old ones. I am planning a publishing schedule for myself of at least once a month. This might increase during periods of high productivity, or it might get disrupted, but I am generally a consistent person.
If you don't know me, you might not have much of an idea yet about what will be published. Along with blog posts about software, philosophy, history, literature, tabletop role-playing games, and many other interests of mine, my literary works such as poems, short stories, or travel writings will also be here.
My short-term publishing plan includes the beginning of a developer diary, an article about AI and software -yet another one-, and adding one of the articles I wrote about TTRPGs. I have a lot of plans in the technical sense as well; I will be talking about them at length in the developer diary.
You can reach me via the contact section for your suggestions, criticisms, or just to say hello! -Because I haven't added comments yet…-
